About: Janice A. Peneno
LICSW, LMT, APPIt all started about 20 years ago while I was a social worker in a small, constantly struggling mental health agency. I had several colleagues who were amazed at how organized my office, my files and my planner always was. My first unofficial client was a psychologist who hired me to help her organize her home. I eventually helped her also organize to move her home to a much smaller space. I loved doing organizational work and it felt like a natural extension of my counseling skills. Over the next 10 years, I did a lot of "unofficial organizing" with colleagues, friends and family. They would always say, "You really should do this for a living. You are so good at all this stuff." So about 5 years ago, I took their advice and increased my organizing clients and expanded my services.
Professional Organizing requires the ability to listen and to determine the different needs of clients. The key is to be able to support clients in their work and to tailor solutions that meet each client's unique situation. As a licensed independent clinical social worker since 1987, these skills have been key to my success with clients as a social worker. And previous to that as a teacher of emotionally disturbed special needs children. With All About Organizing Now, I have created the best of all worlds: a business I love, that enables me to use my counseling and social work skills to help others create a life of balance, organization and success for themselves. I also continue to provide psychotherapy to a variety of clients working to improve their lives through a different path. Additionally, I am trained in massage and energy bodywork (reiki and polarity).
