Polarity refers to the universal pulsation of expansion and contraction in the energy fields of the body. It was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, who was trained as a chiropractor. He studied many alternative holistic health fields in order to develop the polarity system of energy balancing.
Polarity practice incorporates a holistic approach to life. It involves energy bodywork, nutrition, exercise, and self-awareness. Energy body work is what most people think of when they hear the word "Polarity." However, nutrition is a very important part of polarity practice as "we are what we eat" which can be a scary thought! The food we eat can either hinder or help our health and growth. Nutrition can be used to cleanse our bodies and to support the improved flow of life energy. Since foods, in their purest forms, are living entities, they possess energy just like us. Understanding how foods effect us and what energy they bring to us or keep from us, allows us to actively balance our energy flow and health. What to Expect in a Session: Generally, polarity sessions are an hour in length. Psychotherapeutic Polarity can be an hour to an hour and a half and combine traditional "talking therapy" with polarity energy sessions. The practitioner will assess your energetic attributes using touch, observation, and interview methods. You will remain clothed during the session and lie on a massage table. Hands-on touch contacts include light, medium, and firm as well as limb movement at times. You may experience subtle or more powerful energetic sensations, including tingling, warmth or heat, openness, and/or wavelike sensations. Benefits of Polarity:
